Pieta is a qualified and admitted attorney specialising in all aspects of corporate and commercial law with a strong background in fiduciary services. He is a practical and commercially minded professional with a keen interest in business.

He started out in the commercial department of a well-known and established legal firm, broadened his horizons with a stint in the financial services industry and made the move into the private equity space focussing mainly on mergers and acquisitions as well as equity investments (both locally and internationally). The prospect of operating his own venture has always excited him and so he founded the boutique advisory business Strauss Law.

During his career he has gained extensive experience in transactional work, advising and acting on behalf of corporate, private, and institutional clients (including clients listed on a recognised stock exchange).

He is a family man to the core and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. When not in the office, he enjoys a good road or trail run and the occasional mountain bike ride. Although born close to the Union Building and currently residing in the Western Cape, Pieta was raised a Free Stater and is a loyal Cheetahs supporter.

More about Murray

Murray is a qualified and admitted attorney with a background in commercial and civil dispute resolution as well as labour law. He is relatable and hardworking with a strong interest in corporate and commercial matters, both domestically and internationally. To further his interests, he obtained his B.Com Law and LLB degrees after which he went on to obtain his LLM in International Trade Law.

Murray graduated from the University of Pretoria after which he started out in the dispute resolution and appeals department of a reputable law-firm in the Free State. He has since expanded his focus to include areas of commercial and corporate law, international trade, international commercial transactions, maritime and shipping law and which resulted in him joining the Strauss Law team. He is passionate about the growth and development of his clients, and prides himself in having a keen attention to detail.

Outside of the office Murray looks forward to enjoying time off with his wife, watching and playing various sports, and exploring the Western Cape from his home in Cape Town.
